JUL|2021 - Are We Living in a Superorganism?
Created for the cover story of Next Nature Magazine, this digital editorial features Shudu in an abstract, surreal environment of exploding pink petal blooms, an interpretation of the evolving relationship between virtual influencers, audiences, and digital culture.
The project responds to the essay’s central idea: that in a world shaped by social media, algorithms, and virtual personalities, we are no longer interacting with isolated individuals or brands, but with interconnected systems that behave like a “superorganism.”

Within this context, Shudu exists as both character and symbol. As a virtual model, she represents the blurred boundaries between human identity, digital construction, and branded storytelling. The editorial translates this concept into a visual language, using abstract floral forms to express the growth, replication, and interconnected nature of online culture.

Rather than depicting a traditional fashion narrative, the series explores mood, symbolism, and abstraction, placing the digital model within a living system of colour, motion, and fragmented reality.
The result is a visual reflection on how influence, identity, and media ecosystems intertwine in the digital age, and how virtual humans have become part of a larger cultural structure that is constantly evolving.
