OCT|2024 - MAi. Exploring the Future of Fashion Storytelling

Created in collaboration with Max&Co. and British designer Richard Quinn, MAi. explored the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence at a time when AI-generated imagery and animation were still emerging technologies.

Inspired by the glamour of 1960s sci-fi and a future shaped by AI, the campaign featured virtual models Shudu and Dagny wearing Richard Quinn's bold floral designs and signature silhouettes. The result was a mixed-reality editorial that blended fashion, technology, and storytelling in a visually striking new format.

To bring the project to life, The Diigitals combined digital fashion created in CLO3D with virtual humans, CGI, and early AI-generated motion techniques. This hybrid approach allowed the team to transform static digital garments into dynamic editorial content, exploring new ways for brands to engage audiences through emerging technology.

The collection's retro-futurist aesthetic provided the perfect foundation for experimentation. Quinn's expressive prints and dramatic shapes were reimagined through a combination of 3D craftsmanship and AI-driven visuals, creating imagery that felt both nostalgic and futuristic.

As brands began exploring the role of artificial intelligence within creative production, MAi. represented an early example of AI being embraced not only as a design tool, but as part of the editorial process itself. The project demonstrated how digital fashion, virtual models, and generative technologies could come together to create new forms of fashion storytelling.

Today, MAi. remains an important milestone in The Diigitals' ongoing exploration of AI-powered creativity and the future of visual communication.
