Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer
MARCH|2021 - The Enemy of Artificial
What happens when a brand launches a campaign against artificiality and hires virtual influencers to help tell the story?
For the launch of Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer's Classic Collection, The Diigitals partnered with the brand on a playful social media campaign that blurred the lines between reality and technology. Featuring Shudu, Dagny, and Koffi, the campaign formed part of a wider creative concept positioning Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer as "The Enemy of Artificial."
At a time when conversations around AI, deepfakes, cryptocurrency, and digital culture were rapidly entering the mainstream, the campaign embraced these themes with humour. Virtual influencers became part of a fictional "AI community" takeover, helping drive engagement across social media while encouraging audiences to think about the difference between what's real and what's artificial.

The wider campaign included digital activations, influencer content, interactive social media experiences, and a headline-grabbing Bitcoin giveaway. By placing virtual personalities at the centre of a campaign celebrating real ingredients and organic products, Michelob Ultra created a clever contrast that captured attention and sparked conversation.
For The Diigitals, the project demonstrated how virtual models can become powerful storytelling tools for brands, helping communicate complex ideas through entertainment, culture, and social engagement. Featuring Shudu, Dagny, and Koffi together, the campaign showcased the growing role of digital characters within mainstream advertising and brand communications.
A playful collision between technology and authenticity, the project remains an early example of virtual influencers being integrated into large-scale consumer marketing campaigns.
